THE GROUP

Joan Davis A classic American Jazz vocalist with that Washington D.C. touch of soul, Joan has played with some of the great jazz musicians of our time, including Gil Scott Heron, Bobby McFerrin and McCoy Tyner. She has enjoyed a vibrant career in the UK working with a number of well-known musicians such as Tony Kofi, Pee Wee Ellis, Frank Lacy, Winston Clifford and Byron Wallen, among other top UK musicians.

Tony Remy has become one of the most in-demand session and concert musicians as well as becoming a respected artist in his own right. The artists that he has either recorded or toured with include Courtney Pine, Jason Rebello, Julian Joseph, Freddie Hubbard, Lonnie Liston Smith, Lenny White, Omar, Ronnie Laws, Nelson Rangell and Maysa Leak.

Nick Cohen has played jazz with Jean Toussaint (ex-Jazz Messengers), Jason Rebello, Orphy Robinson and Incognito. He has funked alongside Roy Ayers, Weldon Irvine and Don Blackman and played Brasilian music with the likes of Jon Lucien and Da Lata. In total contrast Nick has toured with major pop acts like Massive Attack, M-People and The Eurythmics

Anders Olinder was born in Sweden and came to live in the U.K. in the early 90's. He studied with Jason Rebello and began playing jazz, funk, blues, soul and R'n'B on tour throughout the U.K. Since 1998 Anders has worked with various musicians and bands in England and Europe, including Peter Gabriel, Pee Wee Ellis (Saxophone/Composer with James Brown & Van Morrison's band), Tony Kofi (Saxophone/Composer), Mississippi John L Watson (vocals with Jimi Hendrix etc.) Cameron Pierre and the Courtney Pine Quartet .

Ian Matthews plays drums for the band Kasabian. He joined in 2005 when the band felt they needed a live drummer instead of using processed beats all the time. Ian reckons his diverse background made it easy for him to step into his gig with British rockers Kasabian, whose vibrant brand of rock mixes elements of new wave, electronica, and dub beats with classic progressive song structure.
